Seeing a Tsui Hark film reminded me that I was still sitting unceremoniously on the soundtrack to Green Snake. It is a great film and has a great soundtrack. This isn't all of it but it is most of it.

Yay! One of my favorite movies and favorite soundtracks too. Many thanks. :)
Brian,
Glad to see that your back online. Chieko and I were worried that something happened to you in Thailand.
Anyway, Chieko is due early next month and we had a baby shower today.
David
David - that is wonderful news. You a father. Who would have thought! Congratulations.
Woo hoo! Glad to see you are back. I'm never curious about a Donnie film but you managed to awaken an interest in Detective Dee.
The last HK film I have seen caused to me to take a break from them (It is called Murderer and totally belongs to "what they were thinking?" category.) Detective Dee sounds like it just may end the drought.
Er... Eliza... be careful. A(nother) friend of mine texted me a message after watching "Detective Dee" about it having moments that rivalled that of "Murderer" -- in not a good way! :S
Thanks Brian! Needless to say I'm very excited!
So, if I name my kid after you or any one of the subway guys will that mean free festival passes for life?! You still have that kind of pull right?!
Oh, in terms of Asian movies have you seen HK flick Long Hot Summer Days? It actually got a ghetto theatrical release here in NYC. It played the Quad for at least a week. Boggles my mind that fluff like that gets screen time while To's Vengeance goes direct to video on demand! Luckily I caught it at BAM when they screened it during one of their festivals.

YTSL - Oh no! But I think I'll give it a try since I miss watching a Tsui Hark film I like and actually Carina Lau in a lead role. So I'll take the chance but if it turns out to be anything like Murderer then I'll fly to Krung Thep and make Brian feel sorry :)
David - I have about as much pull at NYAFF as an armless man comotose in the hospital. I am not sure I can even get in free. But feel free to name your girl Grady. What the heck is Long Hot Summer Days?
Eliza - my guess is that you will find Detective Dee less exciting than I did but better than YTSL did. Maybe the M&Ms I ate sugared me up too much but I am mystified how YTSL and her friend could find Dee to be so laughingly bad - whether the plot does it for you or the characters do who knows - but its a good looking inventive film if nothing else. It is not 90-minutes of having your eyeballs filled with acid as YTSL seems to imply! And if it is - you will never find me anyways!
hey How can you do these all? Because these and all are my favourites..
